The philosophy behind the Darent Valley rod range is to take advantage of modern manufacturing techniques and materials to create exceptionally high performance rods at very affordable prices.
Darent Valley rods bring the fun back into fishing.

built for themselves as the action and test curve was exactly what they needed to cover all aspects required for both trotting a float and the feeder/lead tactics needed along the River Darent fishing for chub, dace, roach and the odd trout, which they both enjoy especially in the winter.
As a result of this, we received a very high demand from most people that saw them, therefore, arranged a production run, and was taken by surprise by the reception that they received by the specialist community and the speed at which they sold.
The Tackle Box is best known as a carp specialist shop and we thought we would struggle to have the specialist angler give them serious consideration. How wrong could we be because they have now been successfully used on lakes and rivers in the pursuit of specimen chub, roach, rudd, perch, dace, not to mention the untold number of carp that have fallen to them.
This is the wrong rod to target specimen carp with, however it is great fun for use on commercial waters. The tip is more than sensitive enough for bite indication when used as a light feeder.

Built on a quality carbon blank with a slim full length cork handle, 16mm DPS style reel seat, lined rings throughout and with attractive cosmetics.
The ringing pattern is our 'Fold friendly' design which allows them to be transported more conveniently and safely.
Each rod is supplied in a lightweight rod and reel sleeve.

Also be sure to check out the 11ft 1.25lb (product code 15307) and 12ft 1.75lb (product code 15308) Darent Valley Avon/Quivers rods, rods more suitable for use on weedy waters, bigger rivers, specimen tench, bream and double figure carp.

This rod is everything that I was led to believe. A very versatile little rod and amazing value for money.
Love this rod! It is so light with an enjoyable action whether as a feeder with a large carp or as a float rod catching roach. I think Santa is bringing me the 1.25 variant for Christmas. Tacklebox are excellent to deal with and offer an excellent service. I stupidly broke the tip and when I rang to enquire about buying a replacement, they sent me one free of charge! How good is that; a real pleasure to deal with and if I was local to them I would be there every week!
Bought this rod as a tool to fish small overgrown streams where I live in France and also to fish small ponds and fisheries where I might catch anything from small rudd to double figure carp. Used the rod for the first time today freelining and surface fishing for carp with 4lb line on a pretty snag free water and it was gentle on the small fish while showing sufficient backbone to handle the bigger single figure ones. I feel confident it would deal with lower doubles with ease but we'll see! Although rated as 0.75 lb test curve, it feels as capable as the John Wilson Avon 1.25 test curve I've got - it seems somewhat "tippier" than the JW but no less powerful and will be a pleasure to use for the small fish in some of the local streams.

The rod is nicely made and pleasant to use. I particularly like the short, slim handle - would have liked a keeper ring but it's no big deal, I'll whip one on myself. I don't like the bag that's supplied but in all other respects, it's a steal at £40. I've been looking for a rod like this for some while and was delighted to find it at such a keen price.

Shipping to France was expensive compared to some other tackle suppliers, but fast and efficient.
Bought and used this rod recently to fish for chub on my local river. Found it a joy to use. Very forgiving tip to middle action with a nice bit of reserve power in the butt. this handled chub up to 3lb 5oz on the day, and was more than a match for a small barbell of 2lb 12oz that scrapped all the way to the net. for the money I've not used a better rod.
Cannot believe this rod. Superb action, nice slim blank handles everything from roach and perch fishing to small commercial carp fishing. Just sold my Free spirit High's 1lb to in preference to these rods. Why pay nearly £250 for a free spirit when one of these is £40? You can buy a pair and good reels for the cost of the Free Spirit. Wish I found these before I wasted my money on the Free spirit. Plus backed up with a superb service. Top marks Tackle box.
Brilliant bit of gear for the money, light with a lovely action and from order to door in just over 1 and a half days, so class all round, much appreciated thanks.
ive had pair of these rods for a few years now and im blown away by them! I use them for feeder fishing with alarms,as a pellet waggler rod or just for heavy float fishing. on the first outing I had perch to just over 2lb and 6 carp to 13lb 8oz. they handled it perfectly. you can not go wrong for the money and ive had loads of people ask me were I got them from and how much, knowone can believe the price. top work guys
