Ive been after the right 2 piece 12' rod for perch fishing for some time. I would be live baiting (float or ledgering) or fishing prawns and worm. The issue I had was finding a 12' rod with a suitable test curve and action. I took a punt on one of these as it seemed like just what I was after, despite advertised as a float rod. Well I christened it recently on its first session, accounting for 15 Perch over a pound including three over 2lb, biggest an ounce of 3lb. All on small roach live baits ledgered with a 1oz lead. I suffered no hook pulls whatsoever, which is an issue with Perch if the rod is too powerful or the action is too stiff.
This rod is a dream to fish with for Perch, light and well finished, not forgetting the price.
I've just ordered a second!
Delivered 1 June 2017. First outing 4 June, cracking rod. Suited to lines from 4-8lbs advised T/C between 1-1.25lb favours nearer 1lb. Casts a waggler wonderfully well and has great line pick up on the strike. Caught bream to 4lb, roach to a pound and a couple of fighting carp to 11lbs, great action when tackling the carp. I was using Drennan 4.4lb line with a ABU 501 reel, the rod worked really well, cushioning the runs with some ease.
The quality of the rod is first class, the rods action well meets my fishing style/requirements and for the price I consider the rod to be great value for money.
Highly recommended by me.
Well done Tackle Box.
