Price Changes
We may alter prices at any time. We
try our best to keep price changes to
a minimum but sometimes it is inevitable.
We will aim to update the web site as
soon as possible, but may not be able
to make the changes immediately. If
the price of an item you have ordered
has increased we will contact you before
charging the additional amount.
Pricing Policy
All products on tacklebox.co.uk are priced
in pounds sterling and include UK VAT
at the prevailing rate. For orders being
dispatched to countries outside the European
Union we will deduct VAT from relevant
items. |
How to Order
Orders may be placed by phone, fax, mail or online. Please follow
these links for more information on how to order -
online
/ other methods.
We also run a 'bricks & mortar' shop
and purchases can of course be made there. |
Payment Methods
You can pay by Visa, Amex, Mastercard,
Maestro/Switch, Solo, Electron or Delta online. For other methods
of ordering we also accept
cheques, cash, postal orders or our own
gift vouchers. Cash is acceptable only
if posted via a registered service such
as Royal Mail Special Delivery in the
UK. We are unable to accept 'Swipe Only' cards unless you are
making a purchase in the shop. |
Card Security
We have deliberately chosen a proprietary
shopping cart system (DXCart.com) that
keeps your credit/debit card information
in a secure environment at all times.
When you complete your card details
on screen you are entering them directly
into storage on a secure server. Your
entry of that information is protected
by SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.
We then obtain your order information,
by accessing the secure server directly.
We then delete the order information
completely. Your card information never
exists outside a secure environment,
for example in the form of an email.
| |
For those who
still have concerns about the security
of card information, we offer a Callback
order facility. You do not need to supply
any card details, just your name and
a daytime (UK time) phone number, and
we will call you for your card details.
| |
During the online
checkout process the card holder's name
and address must be provided in the
'Billing Information' and 'Credit/Debit
Card Information' fields exactly as
they are written on the statement. The
same applies to the card holder's name
and address supplied via any other order
method.
| |
Card fraud is
illegal and we will prosecute.
| |
For customers paying by credit or
debit card, it is our policy to send your first order to the
address that the card is registered to. This is to make sure
we adhere to Credit Card Company regulations to protect you and
us from fraud. |
When will you be
charged?
We process order payment manually. Your
card will not be debited automatically
during the online transaction. We will
debit your card once your order has been
picked. This will usually be within 24
hours of receipt of your order. |
Out of Stock Items
If any item you have ordered is not available
straightaway for any reason we will automatically
place the out of stock item on our back
order system, which means that the day
it is delivered to us it will be sent
to you. If you would rather we deleted
unavailable items from your order or substituted
them, please indicate your preference
when you order. The website checkout process
provides the facility to do this. |
Delivery Addresses
If you have ordered from us before we
are happy to send your order to an address
other than your home/billing address. Please enter
the delivery address in the appropriate
fields if you are ordering online or include
it with your order if you use another
order method. We are sorry but we do not
offer this service to first time customers
paying by credit or debit card. |
Delivery Charges
Because of the huge variety of orders
dispatched, delivery charges vary. As
comprehensive a list as possible can be
found starting here.
We will happily quote a delivery charge
for a specific order on request. All deliveries
are insured against loss.
| |
Delivery to the
UK: Standard charges are shown here. Standard delivery to the UK is
free of charge on orders of £500
retail value or over. In addition to standard
delivery, next day (delivered Monday to
Friday only) and Saturday morning delivery
are also available. Rates are shown starting
here. |
| |
Delivery Charges for Online Orders
Please note that we sell a huge variety of items and there is a limit to the number of different delivery charges our online system can calculate. Some orders (e.g. some going to outside mainland UK) or some items (e.g. boats) cannot be sent for the charge calculated by the system. If the delivery charge differs from that printed on your invoice we will contact you before charging or despatching your order. If the delivery charge for specific items is already known to us (e.g. the haulage charge for boats) the price will be indicated in the product information on the web site. For the vast majority of online orders the usual charges here will apply. |
| |
Delivery to Outside
the UK: International shipping charge
guidelines are given starting here.
| |
Please note that outside the EU (European Union), local Customs Charges may be payable or Import Licences may be required. Some Countries do not allow the import of various goods e.g. the foodstuffs in bait. We cannot be responsible for these charges and/or regulations and advise you to check thoroughly before ordering. |
Dispatch
Our Mailroom operates from 9am on Monday
to 5pm on Friday. We aim to dispatch all
orders by the end of the day (Monday to
Friday) following receipt of the order.
Orders received on a Friday, Saturday
or Sunday will be dispatched the following
Monday as long as there are no problems.
Standard dispatch of orders to UK destinations
is by first class post or via our carrier
(24 hour service from time of dispatch),
depending on the goods ordered. Other
services (next day (delivered Monday to
Friday only) or Saturday morning delivery)
are available on request for orders received
before midday (UK time). Orders to non-UK
destinations will be sent according to
customer requirements. |
Delivery Problems
Within the UK you can usually expect delivery
of your order between 2 and 7 days from
the day we receive it. If you have not
received your order after 7 days please
call us. We will make enquiries to Royal
Mail or our carrier to confirm loss of
the parcel and will send a duplicate parcel
to you as soon as possible. Outside the
UK please contact us if you have not received
your order after 2 weeks. |
| |
If a Next Day or Saturday Delivery UK order
is delivered late we will refund the difference between the rate
paid and the standard rate for the order. |
Problems with Order
Contents
The contents of your order should be checked
immediately after delivery. Please telephone
us straightaway if there are any problems. |
Return of Goods Policy
We are happy to exchange unsuitable
or unwanted items as long as they are
returned to us in perfect condition,
in the original packaging, with the
relevant receipt or proof of purchase and within 28 days
of delivery. In such circumstances we will not refund
either the original postage or your
return postage.
| |
If goods are faulty, damaged in transit or have been sent
to you in error we will refund the price
paid in full and postage as long as
the goods are returned in their original
packaging, with the receipt and within
28 days of delivery.
| |
If you wish to return goods please notify us beforehand. |
| |
We will not accept goods sent to us
for refund or exchange that have not
been originally purchased from us.
| |
Goods bought online, meeting the above
criteria, may be returned in the shop
if that is more convenient for you.
| |
Refunds will be made
by the same method used to pay for the
item (e.g. if you paid by credit card
any refund will be made to the same card). |
Frozen Bait
Please note that we can only send Frozen Bait if you accept full responsibility for the condition of the bait when it is delivered to you.
| |
We are unable to send frozen bait under frozen or even refrigerated conditions. For delivery to the UK, we despatch it on a next day (from day of despatch - not necessarily from day of order) service. Delivery to Europe or elsewhere will take at least 2-3 days.
| |
The bait is frozen when it leaves us and we wrap it in bubble wrap to insulate it. However, depending on the transit conditions, and certainly if delivery is delayed, the bait may be defrosted on arrival. We therefore advise you to time your order carefully, so that you will use the bait straightaway.
| |
In many cases, bait is produced frozen to remove the need for preservatives. This means that if the bait is allowed to defrost over a few days, for example, if transit is delayed, it may be in an unusable state by the time it reaches you. |
| |
Please note that due to the above factors we are unable to accept responsibility for the condition and usability of frozen bait and therefore, will not reimburse you, if you are unhappy with the condition of the bait on arrival. |
| |
Despatch of Frozen Bait (UK)
We despatch all frozen bait using a next day service. This does not mean that an order for frozen bait will arrive the day after it is placed. It means that WHEN we despatch it we will use a next day service (to get it from our freezer to you as quickly as possible). WHEN we despatch depends on whether standard or next day delivery has been requested at the time of the order. If you are ordering before 12pm (Monday to Thursday) and request next day delivery we will despatch your order the same day. If you ask for standard delivery, we will despatch your order as soon as possible (we aim to despatch within 24 hours of order receipt). Please note that we do not despatch orders containing frozen bait on a Friday (as they would not be delivered until Monday). |
| |
Currently we do not charge extra for delivery of orders containing frozen bait (even though we despatch using a next day service). |
| |
If any of the above is not clear, please call us for clarification before placing your order containing frozen bait. |
Complaints
We always do our best to respond quickly
and fairly to any problem relating to
tackle purchased from us or the service
provided. In the event of a problem, call
us straightaway and we will do whatever
is necessary to resolve it as fast as
possible. In normal circumstances problems
will be responded to within 24 hours,
usually the same day we are notified. |
