Multi-Modulus & Multi-Layered Blank Construction:
CF-X blanks are manufactured using various grades of carbon cloth, this multi-modular, multi-layered approach in the construction inherently gives the blanks their strong robust qualities.

Life Long Blank Finish:
All CF-X blanks have the perdurable long-life finish which was originally developed for the Free Spirit ‘S’ Range rods by Gary Peet, this finish is now used on many, if not most, of the high end rods on sale today.
The carbon is not lacquered so it cannot flake, chip or be discoloured by UV, any blemishes or marks that do develop are simply polished away by many of the car care products that are readily available.
From a rod builders perspective this finish allows the rod to be rebuilt without marks being seen where the original guides were fitted and handles and reel seat positions can be changed without cosmetic blemishes, for decades this had given restrictions on what could and could not be done.

CF-X, What’s in the name?
We did not want to use the same weaves that were made popular by other brands, so several samples were sent to us of the latest weaves available, all were labelled with an ID that started with the initials for Carbon Fibre, CF-, followed by a four figure number, but the one we liked had the number scratched off during shipping, we started to refer to this weave as Carbon Fibre-X, so there lays the answer behind the name.

CF-X Development Brief:
To create very capable, robust rods to meet the challenges of modern day carp fishing methods and techniques with a durable action to match the lifelong blank finish, to be affordable and yet still have custom build options.
