The rise in popularity of shorter rods for carp fishing has driven the need for shorter spod and marker rods, but there are also other items and devices that require such a rod, which includes:

The Darent Valley 10ft SMD rod has been designed with all of the above in mind, we would recommend the use of a quality braid of at least 50lb breaking strain for use with the weed rakes and electronic devices.
This rod is just one model in a very affordable specimen and specialist rod range which has classic cosmetics including full length cork style handles and natural carbon grey blanks with a gloss finish.
